MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013467 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'adaptable floor cleaning device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable floor cleaning device encompasses, an elongated body 1 with a handle 4 at the proximal end of body 1 for enabling users to hold the body 1, an imaging unit 5 on the proximal portion 2 detects dust/dirt on floor, the distal end of body 1 contains a cylindrical member 6 with integrated LDR for monitoring light intensity around the body, multiple LEDs 7 on body 1 improves visibility, multiple extendable barrels 9 with bristles 10 on member 6 are used for extracting dust from the floor, an ultrasonic sensor checks surface leveling and if uneven, the microcontroller extends specific bristle sets to aid in extraction of dust/dirt, multiple hollow conduits with a vacuum pump remove tough stains as detected by the imaging unit 5, also a waste chamber 11 at proximal end stores the extracted dirt."
