MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023509 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 25, 2024, for 'adaptable hammering device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable hammering device, comprising an elongated body 1 having a proximal 2 and distal end 3, a handle 4 accessed by a user for acquiring a grip on body 1, an imaging unit 5 for generating a 3-dimensional map of surrounding, a display panel 6 for selecting a fixed surface which is to be hammered, a sensing module to determine distance and angle of the distal end 3 from the surface, plurality of hammering heads 7 for gripping a particular head required for performing hammering operation on surface, a pair of extendable links 10 to lock the head at distal end 3, a plunger 11 assembled inside body 1 and connected with the distal end 3 by means of a pair of twisted wires 12 and a pair of motorized sliding units 13 to translate plunger 11in an upward/downward direction which results in extension/retraction of the wires 12."
