MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013496 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'adaptable hand-wash assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Amanpreet Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable hand-wash assistive device, comprising a circular shaped hollow body 1 crafted with an opening 2 developed to positioned on an aerator portion of a pre-installed water tap, a laser sensor detecting diameter of the aerator portion for actuating expandable pulley arrangement 3 contracting/ expanding the opening 2 in view of fitting the body 1 with the aerator portion, a microphone 5 provide voice commands for opening 2 closing the tap for actuating a robotic gripper 6 for securing a knob portion of the tap, a curve shaped plate 7 tilts towards the child, enabling the child to comfortably access the tap water and a temperature sensor detecting temperature of the water for actuating a motorized iris lid 10 for restricting flow of the water."
