MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023451 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 25, 2024, for 'adaptable marble grinding device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable marble grinding device, comprising a body 1 positioned on a marble slab which is to be smoothened, a touch interactive display panel 2 arranged on the body 1 for enabling a user input commands, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 installed on the body 1 to determine slab dimensions, a drum-shaped structure 4 arranged on the body 1 by means of an extendable L-shaped rod 5 to extend the structure 4 for smoothening out the slab's edge, a cylindrical member 6 arranged underneath the body 1 for smoothening the slab's surface, a pair of extendable bars 7 arranged underneath the body 1 to extend/retract for positioning a U-shaped member 8 integrated on the bars 7 underneath the slab for collecting debris/dust and a water reservoir 9 arranged in the body 1 to dispense pressurized water on the slab."
