MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411011080 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 16, 2024, for 'adaptable nut and bolt fastening/unfastening tool.'
Inventor(s) include Puneet Agarwal.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable nut and bolt fastening/unfastening tool, comprising a telescopically operated rod 1 attached with an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 to determine positioning of nut-bolt, based on which rod 1 extends/retracts for positioning a semi-circular member 3 arranged on apex of rod 1 near the nut, an angle sensor for monitoring angle of nut w.r.t member 3, a constant velocity joint 5 to orient member 3 in contact with outer periphery of nut, four to five extendable pins 6 extends for acquiring a grip over nut, a coupling unit 7 is integrated on member 3 by means of a motorized pivot joint for orienting unit over nut and further velocity joint 5 rotates nut to unfasten, a corrosion detection sensor for detecting rust on nut-bolt, and an electronically controlled nozzle 9 for spraying an anti-rust solution on nut-bolt to remove rust from nut and bolt."
