MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024831 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'adaptable rust-removal assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Jasminal Kaur; Dr. Rama; Karan Kumar; and Balkar Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable rust-removal assistive device, comprising a hollow cylindrical body 1 having a proximal and distal end, a handle 2 accessed by a user to position body 1 in proximity to a surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 determines deposition of rust on surface, a linear actuator 4 extends/retracts for positioning distal end in proximity to deposited dust, a circular disc 5 configuring plurality of telescopically operated pins 6 which extend/retract for getting positioned on deposited rust, a motorized hinge joint provide converging/diverging movement to pins 6 for moving pins 6 in a high speed to-and-fro motion for removing deposited rust from surface, and a suction unit via a pair of conduits 8 collects rust particles in a waste chamber."
