MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023119 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 24, 2024, for 'adaptable sheet laying assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable sheet laying assistive device, comprises an elongated body 1 having a proximal and distal end, a handle 2 accessed by the user to position the distal end in proximity to a fixed surface, an imaging unit 3 captures images in vicinity of the frame, a telescopically operated rod extend/retract to position a U-shaped member, a sensing module detects the deposition of dust and water on the surface, a suction unit creates negative pressure for removing the deposited dust, a wiping unit 4 provides a wiping movement to the deposited water, a motorized roller 6 coiled with a sheet rotates for unwrapping/wrapping the sheet, a pair of robotic grippers 7 grips ends of the unwrapped sheet, a motorized wheel facilitating in smooth movement of the body 1."
