MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017940 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 12, 2024, for 'adaptable sheltering device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable sheltering device comprises of rectangular shaped frame 1 developed to be positioned on surface, multiple suction cups 2 installed beneath frame 1 for securely accommodating frame 1 over surface, a push button 10 accessed by user to press button 10, multiple mechanical links 3 installed on frame 1 via motorized hinge for stretching flexible sheet 4 configured on the links 3, thereby creating dome shaped structure, an artificial intelligence based image capturing module 8 for capturing multiple images of surroundings respectively, a motorized zipper 5 to slide for creating opening, a proximity sensor for detecting presence of user within structure, multiple iris lids 9 configured on structure for allowing air to enter within structure, a weight sensor integrated within structure for detecting weight of any object over structure, a sliding unit 6 installed on lateral ends of structure to slide curve shaped member 7."
