MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025422 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'adaptable sleeve installation assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable sleeve installation assistive device comprises of a frame fabricated with a handle 1 to positon the frame in proximity to a pipe, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 installed on the platform for capturing and processing multiple images in vicinity of the frame, a hydraulically operated rod 3 integrated in the frame to extend/retract for getting positioned in proximity to the pipe, a drawer arrangement 5 is integrated in the member to increase/decrease the dimensions of the member, a laser projection unit 8 integrated in the frame to project light beams on the sleeve, a motorized hinge joint integrated with each of the members to provide converging/diverging movement to the members, a motorized sliding unit 7 integrated in between the clamps 6 to translate the clamps 6 for providing a twisting movement."
