MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441013524 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'adaptable steering wheel handling assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable steering wheel handling assistive device, comprising a frame 1 having a curved member 2 positioned in proximity to a steering wheel of a four-wheeler, member 2 is integrated with a pair of motorized clamping unit 3 for acquiring a grip over steering wheel, a C-shaped unit 4 is gripped by a user to easily manipulate steering wheel, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 determine positioning of C-shaped unit 4 with respect to user's body for actuating rods to extended/retracted for adjusting positioning of C-shaped unit 4 to prevent hindrance in movement of steering wheel, a vibrating module 6 produce vibrating sensations for alerting user regarding an upcoming obstacle, and a timer monitoring time duration by which frame 1 is not being accessed by user for actuating a pair of motorized hinges for folding C-shaped unit 4 to allow user to directly access steering wheel."
