MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023566 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 25, 2024, for 'adaptable tennis sport playing assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Ashish Jain; and Danish Meiraj.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable tennis sport playing assistive device comprises an elongated U-shaped plate 1 configured with an ultrasonic sensor monitors dimensions of a racket's periphery, a drawer arrangement 2 to extend/retract the plate 1, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 monitor hits struck by a user using the racket, a laser measurement sensor integrated on the plate 1 for monitoring distance between a ball falling in arena of the user from the user's racket, a motorized sliding unit 4 integrated on the plate 1 translates a motorized clamp integrated on the sliding unit 4 in proximity to the plate 1, an electromagnetically powered spring 5 integrated in between the sliding unit 4 and clamp for gripping on the ball, and an extendable flap 6 integrated on the sliding unit 4 for applying a force on an obstacle stuck in between the ball and racket."
