MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411014327 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 27, 2024, for 'adaptable traction management device for shoes.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Shivani Vaid; Dr. Geetika; Rupinder Kaur Tiwana; and Pranati Prakash.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable traction management device for shoes, comprising a sole-shaped body 1 worn by a user underneath shoes and ends of body 1 engaged with shoes by a strap 2, an ultrasonic sensor determines dimensions of sole of shoes, a drawer arrangement extends/retracts body 1 for attaining an appropriate dimension to get stabilized underneath shoes, a friction sensor integrated underneath body 1 for monitoring friction between shoes and ground surface, plurality of extendable spikes 3 integrated underneath body 1 extend for enhancing friction between shoes and surface to prevent any chances of slippage, a temperature sensor detects temperature of user's shoes, a motorized exhaust fan 5 provides proper air circulation inside body 1, and plurality of Peltier units provide cooling sensation to provide cooling effect to user's shoes sole."
