MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025560 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2024, for 'adaptable travelling assistive system for blinds.'
Inventor(s) include Tarun Kumar Sharma; Arun Saini; Tarun Saini; and Neha Yajurvedi.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable travelling assistive system for blinds, comprising a wearable component 1 associated with the system developed to be worn by a user on the user's wrist, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 installed on the component 1 to monitor surrounding of the user, a scanner 3 installed on the component 1 that is accessed by the user for scanning a ticket purchased by the user for travelling purpose, an earpiece 4 associated with the component 1 to produce audio command for guiding the user to walk on the tactile path on the route and an OCR (optical character recognition) module 5 installed on the component 1 to detect numbers integrated on seats inside the train and guide the user to reach the user-reserved seat inside the train via the earpiece 4."
