MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012439 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 21, 2024, for 'adaptable wood cutting assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Sandeep Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable wood cutting assistive device, comprising an elongated body 1 arranged with a touch interactive display panel 2 that is accessed by a user for providing inputting shape to be cut from a wooden log, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 determines positioning of wooden log, a holographic projector 4 projects a virtual image depicting user-specified shape on log, a pair of rods 5 supports a sharp-edged spade 6 arranged at distal end which is positioned on projected image on log, a tactile sensor detects hardness of the log, a hydraulic actuator 7 integrated in between each rods 5 and spade 6 for penetrating spade 6 into log, an angle sensor detects angle of spade 6 and a motorized ball and socket joint 8 tilt spade 6 at a required angle with respect to projected image."
