MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311088380 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Dec. 22, 2023, for 'adaptive arm supporting device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Kesh Chandra.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptive arm supporting device, comprising of a platform 1 configured with plurality of telescopic rods 2 on a fixed surface, a curved shaped plate 3 to place a forearm portion while perform a writing operation, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting placement and thickness of user's forearm, a pair of motorized rollers 4 that aids in wrapping of a strap 5 to secure forearm on plate 3, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 6 for capturing images of surface and determines type of surface for extending and retracting that aids in positioning of platform 1 in an appropriate manner, and a PPG (Photoplethysmography) sensor for detecting blood flow of user's forearm to loosen straps and a speaker 7 to notify user to consult a medical practitioner."
