The system comprises a tablet-based interactive display unit arranged to present literacy exercises and to receive writing-interaction input, a sensor-enabled writing instrument arranged to detect writing-pressure data, motion-tracking data, stroke-formation data, and temporal-interaction data produced during learner engagement with the literacy exercises, an input-interpretation subsystem disposed within the tablet-based interactive display unit and arranged to convert the writing-pressure data, motion-tracking data, stroke-formation data, and temporal-interaction data into digital-stroke feature sets, and an adaptive processing engine communicatively coupled to the input-interpretation subsystem and arranged to generate adaptive-difficulty control data based on the digital-stroke feature sets and to apply such adaptive-difficulty control data to modify subsequent literacy exercises presented by the tablet-based interactive display unit."
