MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641049587 A) filed by Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute Of Science and Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 18, for 'adaptive sensor-fusion based forklift reverse collision prevention system.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. T Kavitha; Shaik Sattar; V. Navakranth Reddy; Kurapati. Sai Lekhana; and S. Venkata Jaswanth.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Adaptive Predictive Passenger Alert Timing System for Transportation Vehicles The present invention relates to an adaptive predictive passenger alert timing system for transportation vehicles that provides personalized and non-intrusive alerts to passengers prior to reaching designated stops. The system comprises a vehicle-mounted central processing unit, a positioning module for acquiring real-time geospatial data, a wireless communication interface, and one or more wearable alert devices assigned to passengers. An adaptive predictive algorithm dynamically determines alert timing based on parameters including vehicle speed, distance variation, estimated time-to-arrival, and passenger response behavior, thereby overcoming limitations of conventional fixed-radius geofencing systems. The system further incorporates a closed-loop feedback mechanism to refine alert delivery through learning-based adaptation. Alerts are transmitted directly to wearable devices using low-latency communication without reliance on internet connectivity. The invention enhances passenger safety, convenience, and travel experience by ensuring timely and personalized alerts in various transportation environments."
