MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411003447 A) filed by Bml Munjal University, Gurgaon, Haryana, on Jan. 17, 2024, for 'adaptive visually impaired assistive system.'

Inventor(s) include Akshaya Velumuri; Yash Sharma; Manasvi; Mayank Pratap Singh; and Hirdesh Kumar Pharasi.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptive visually impaired assistive system characterizes a body 1 with curved members 2 for storing the user's spectacles 9, a biometric sensor 8 incorporated on one of member 2 for allowing access of user over spectacle 9, a motorized hinge joint 3 installed in-between members 2 for spectacle 9 retrieval, an imaging unit 13 on the spectacle 9 to detect obstacles, a speaker 15 installed on body 1 for providing audio alerts to the user, an LDR sensor mapped on body 1 for monitoring light intensity, with pair of LEDs 14 installed on body 1 for increasing the visibility of the spectacle 9, and a GPS module for real-time location tracking, which is wirelessly connects with a computing unit that allows user's family members to track the user's location."
