MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012978 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'adjustable abrasion assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Muskaan Rana.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable abrasion assistive device, comprising a body 1 positioned on fixed surface and attached with a touch interactive display panel 2 for providing input regarding an area to be abraded, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 mapped on body 1 which determines thickness of upper layer, a telescopically operated L-shaped rod 5 arranged on body 1 which extend/retract for positioning a panel 6 near specified area, plurality of plates 7 assembled on panel 6 by means of tow extendable C-shaped which extend/retract for positioning plates 7 over surface and hinge joints 9 orients plates 7 in accordance to shape of surface as detected by an ultrasonic sensor, a conveyor belt 10 arranged on panel 6 which rotates along with actuation of rod 5 for rubbing an abrasive sheet fabricated on belt 10 over user-specified area of surface in order to remove determined thickness of upper layer."
