MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019289 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'adjustable algae removal device for underwater construction sites.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable algae removal device for underwater construction sites, comprises of a cylindrical frame 1 integrated with a hook 2 to be installed on arm of a loading vehicle, a movement of arm is controlled by a user by driving the vehicle, an imaging unit 3 for capturing surrounding images of construction rods, a microcontroller for creating a 3D mapping of the images, a computing unit accessed by user for selecting the location of rods where algae is to be removed, an IR sensor 4 for detecting thickness of algae deposition over the rod, a motorized sliding unit 5 for translating a disc 6 over the rods, a motorized iris lid 8 for opening and allowing insertion of rod into the frame 1 and multiple retractable blades integrated with lid for cutting the algae layer resulting in cutting entire layer of algae from the rod."
