MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311079696 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Nov. 23, 2023, for 'adjustable ball-bearing joint disengaging device.'

Inventor(s) include Shalom Akhai; Arvind Kumar; and Sarabjeet Singh.

The application for the patent was published on May 30, under issue no. 22/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable ball-bearing joint disengaging device, comprises of a platform 1 configured with multiple rods 2 to provide support to platform 1 on a ground surface, a suction cup is attached with each of the rods 2 for affixing with the surface, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 3 for capturing images of surrounding of the platform 1, a telescopically inverted L-shaped bar 4 for extending to position a telescopically operated clamping arrangement 5 towards a ball-bearing to be removed, a laser sensor for detecting diameter of the ball-bearing, a motorized hinge joint integrated between jaws 6 and arrangement 5 for engaging jaws 6 with a cage integrated within the ball bearing and impact sensor to detect engagement of jaws 6 with the cage to remove the ball bearing."
