MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018168 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 13, 2024, for 'adjustable bucket cap opening device.'

Inventor(s) include Ajay Kumar Upadhyay.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable bucket cap opening device, comprising a circular shaped platform 1 that provides support to platform 1 on a cap installed on a brim portion of a bucket, a laser sensor detecting dimension of cap for actuating a pair of inverted L-shaped telescopic rods 3 to extend for positioning a pair of pneumatic pins 4 to extend to penetrate inside cap, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 determines successful penetration inside cap and synchronously microcontroller actuates a motorized sliding unit 6 for providing rotational motion to rods 3 that aids in cutting of cap portion and an IR (Infrared) sensor detecting cutting of cap to extend and retract in a combinational manner to tilt cap thereby resulting in opening of cap."
