MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018861 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 14, 2024, for 'adjustable hair cutting assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Amit Kumar Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable hair cutting assistive device, comprises of a semi-circular frame 1 developed to be engaged on the neck portion of a user, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 for capturing multiple images of the frame 1, a telescopically operated arrangement 3 for extending/retracting the frame 1 for encircling the user's neck, a motorized roller 4 for tighten/loosen a looped strap around the neck of the user, plurality of extendable links 5 to extend in a downward direction for establishing a gowning over the upper body portion of the user, a holographic projector 6 for projecting the evaluated haircut on the user's head portion, a lid 7 assembled on a curved shaped container 8 for collecting the cut hairs, and a plate 9 arranged by means of an extendable L-shaped rod 10 to prevent spreading of the cut hairs due to surrounding hairs."
