MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611024199 A) filed by Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 28, for 'adjustable load-relief support platform for bicycle-mounted school bag carriers.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sharvan Kumar Garg.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This invention relates to an adjustable shoulder load-relief support platform designed for bicycles used by school children. The device includes a cushioned, non-slip platform mounted on the rear carrier and supported by height-adjustable rods. When a student wears their school bag during cycling, the bottom of the bag rests on the platform, thereby reducing shoulder strain and improving posture. The system eliminates the need to remove or fasten the bag to the carrier, functioning automatically as the child rides. The support platform incorporates a back stopper to prevent sliding, and is installed using durable metal brackets or clamps. The invention provides a simple, low-cost ergonomic solution for reducing daily load-bearing stress among student cyclists."
