MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202414092272 A) filed by Samsonite Ip Holdings S.a r.l., Luxembourg, on Nov. 26, 2024, for 'adjustable luggage case.'

The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The luggage case (100) includes a base portion (120) including an extendable tow handle (180), and a soft sided portion (130) coupled to the base portion (120) and together defining an internal volume (160) of the luggage case (100). The soft sided portion (130) includes two or more straps (138, 140, 142) positioned on a rear side (110) of the soft sided portion (130) in a spaced apart configuration, and the soft sided portion (130) is configured to transition between a rolled configuration (202, 208, 210, 212, 214, 220) and an unrolled configuration (200) thereby varying the internal volume (160) of the luggage case (100). At least one of the two or more straps (138, 140, 142) selectively engages the extendable tow handle (180) when the extendable tow handle (180) is extended to couple the soft sided portion (130) to the extendable tow handle (180) to selectively support the soft sided portion (130)."
