MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012444 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 21, 2024, for 'adjustable mobility device for water surfaces.'

Inventor(s) include Sahil Kohli.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable mobility device for water surfaces, comprises of an I-shaped frame 1 developed to be positioned on a surface portion of a water body, a seating platform 2 providing a sitting posture to a user over frame 1, a load cell detecting accommodation of user on platform 2 for actuating an inflating unit for inflating inflatable members 3 to lift frame 1 along with user at an optimum height, an acoustic Doppler radar 4 detecting speed and height of a wave approaching towards frame 1 for actuating the motorized hinge joint 5 for adjust the positioning of members 3, and an IR (Infrared) sensor mapped on frame 1 for detecting presence of any obstacle in close proximity to frame 1 for actuating a speaker 6 for notifying user regarding detected obstacle."
