MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018824 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 14, 2024, for 'adjustable object accommodating device for vehicles.'

Inventor(s) include Sunil Kumar Gaur.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable object accommodating device for vehicles, includes a rectangular platform 1 positioned on inner surface of tailgate, suction cup 2 installed underneath the platform 1 to fix the platform 1, a proximity sensor installed on the platform 1 for detecting opening of tailgate, a motorized hinge joint 3 attached with the platform 1 for deploying a plate attached with joint, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 mounted on platform 1 determines type of objects 1, a pair of robotic gripper 7 for gripping and placing objects on plate, a touch sensor for detecting positioning of any container, a weight sensor for detecting placement of objects, pneumatically operated flaps 9 to provide boundary around the plate, a LDR sensor for detecting intensity of light, and a LED strip 10 for illuminating light, a pair of telescopic pistons 4 for extending or retracting the plate."
