MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023134 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 24, 2024, for 'adjustable pipe repairing assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable pipe repairing assistive device, comprising a body 1 fabricated with a handle 2 that is accessed by a user to position body 1 in proximity to a leaking pipe, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 determines dimensions of body 1, a telescopically operated rod 5 positions an extendable U-shaped clamp 4 near pipe for gripping pipe, an ultrasonic sensor determines position of cracks of pipe, a motorized cutter 6 installed via a telescopically operated link 7 to cut pipe from evaluated portion, a robotic arm 8 grips of a suitable plug stopper from a chamber 10 for inserting in cut periphery of pipe for preventing to flow out through cut portion, a container 9 stores multiple pipe-connectors which is applied on cut part of pipe by arm 8 followed by removal of stopper from pipe for fixing leaking pipe."
