MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023137 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 24, 2024, for 'adjustable snow-clearing assistive device for pathways.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable snow-clearing assistive device for pathways comprises a rectangular frame 1 configured with an inverted U-shaped handle 2 accessed by a user to position the frame 1 on a ground surface of a snowy region, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 installed on the frame 1 detect deposition of snow on the surface, a speaker installed on the frame 1 produce audio signals, a tactile sensor embedded on the frame 1 for detecting hardness of the snow, plurality of hydraulically operated links to extend/retract in a repetitive manner while the user moves the frame 1 on the surface, plurality of plates 7 configured in the frame 1 and integrated with plurality of motorized hinges 8 to tilt the plates 7, and a motorized ball and socket joint 9 is integrated in between the rod 6 and the flap 5 for providing required movement to the flap 5."
