MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026124 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'adjustable tea leaves harvesting device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Inderpreet Kaur; Anuradha Saini; Shubhanshu Tiwari; and Rahul Kumar Pathak.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable tea leaves harvesting device comprises a wearable component 1 to be worn by a user, a pair of looped straps 2 to properly accommodated the component 1 on the user's back portion, a touch interactive display panel 3 for providing input regarding details of harvesting tea leaves, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 to monitor cultivated tea plantation on the surface, a telescopically operated L-shaped rod 5 for positioning a body integrated on the rod 5, an ultrasonic sensor for monitoring length of the plantation, of curved links 6 to position the body at a required orientation, plurality of electromagnets 7 for engaging one blade of a motorized scissor 8, a laser measurement sensor for monitoring length of tea leaves, a flap 9 by means of an extendable link to collect cut tea leaves and a lid 11 to cover the component 1."
