MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005480 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 27, 2024, for 'adjustable utensil holding device for burner.'
Inventor(s) include Umesh Bhardwaj; Krishna Kalsi; Ashwini K. Sharma; and Bhasker Pratap Choudhary.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an adjustable utensil holding device for burner, comprising a rectangular frame 1 positioned around a burner of a cooktop configured with multiple pins 2 to provide support to the frame 1 on cooktop, a suction cup 3 attached with each of the pins 2 to secure the frame 1 on the cooktop, an imaging unit 4 installed on the frame 1 for detecting placement of a utensil on the burner, a motorized slider 5 arranged on the frame 1 for providing movement to position multiple telescopically operated plate 6 attached with the slider 5 underneath the utensil for accommodating the utensil, an audio-visual alerting unit 7 assembled on the frame 1 for alerting the user regarding detected flame/smoke and an electromagnetic strip 8 arranged on the plates 6 to secure the utensil on the plates 6."
