MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012440 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 21, 2024, for 'adjustable vehicle covering device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable vehicle covering device, comprises of a cuboidal body 1 installed on a roof of a vehicle, multiple suction cups 2 for mounting body 1 on roof, a user interface inside a computing unit for enabling a user to input details regarding covering and uncovering of vehicle where in case user selects covering of vehicle, then the microcontroller actuates a motorized hinge joint for providing movement to first portion that results in opening of body 1, multiple motorized rollers 3 for unwinding a sheet, multiple L-shaped telescopic clippers 4 for deploying sheet around vehicle that results in covering of vehicle, an imaging unit 5 for determining presence of any debris on deployed sheet and a robotic gripper 6 for gripping and releasing debris away from vehicle."
