MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012904 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'adjustable vehicle rooftop climbing assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Inderpreet Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable vehicle rooftop climbing assistive device, comprises of a circular frame 1 having multiple plates 2, multiple suction cups 3 for mounting frame 1 on wheel, a LiDAR for detecting curvature of wheel, multiple motorized hinge joint for providing movement to plates 2 for bending of frame 1, a strap 4 to secure frame 1, a motorized roller for winding strap 4 to perfectly secure frame 1 on wheel, an imaging unit 6 for determining presence of a user that desires to climb on rooftop and synchronously a motorized sliding unit 7 provides movement to a pair of L-shaped telescopic flap 8 to get extended towards a ground surface that is further accessed by user to climb on flap 8, two inverted L-shaped telescopic rods for extending to position two C-shaped member around user's waist portion to provide stability to user while climbing on frame 1."
