MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025979 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'adjustable weed removal assistive tool.'

Inventor(s) include Sanjeet Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable weed removal assistive tool comprises an elongated body 1 having a proximal 2 and distal 3 end, a handle 4 is fabricated on the proximal 2 end, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 installed on the body 1 determine type of the plant, a speaker 6 installed on the body 1 to produce audio signals, a telescopically operated rod 7 integrated in the body 1 to extend/retract for positioning the distal 3 end, a pair of telescopically operated L-shaped links 9 installed on the disc 8 for positioning on the ground surface around the plant, a suction unit 10 installed on each of the links 9 for affixing the body 1 in the surface, a cam and follower arrangement 12 rotates with the plate 11 to provide a reciprocating linear movement to a pair of trowels 13."
