MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024168 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'adjustable wooden-log segmentation assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Sanyam; and Piyush Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable wooden-log segmentation assistive device, comprising a platform 1 positioned on a fixed surface by means of multiple suction cups 2, a display panel 3 installed on the platform 1 to receive user's input, an imaging unit 4 installed on the platform 1 to determine dimensions of the log, multiple U-shaped clamps 5 arranged on the platform 1 each by means of a rod for gripping surface of the logs, a drawer arrangement 6 integrated in the clamps 5 for enabling the clamps 5 to properly hold the log on the platform 1, an axe blade 10 integrated across a V-shaped member 7 by means of a pair of hydraulic actuators 9 for applying an appropriate pressure on the log's surface, in view of cutting the user-desired segments of the log, thereby assisting the user in cutting the user-desired segments of the wood."
