MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012853 A) filed by Bennett University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'advanced eye tracking in portable computing devices.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The disclosure introduces a system for advanced eye tracking tailored to portable computing devices, incorporating an integrated optical sensor array specifically designed to detect subtle eye movements. The core of the system is a processing unit that meticulously analyzes the data from the sensor array to ascertain the user's gaze direction. Linked to the unit is a display controller that has the capability to modify visual content dynamically in response to the gaze data, thereby creating a more intuitive visual experience. A user interface module is included to harness the detected gaze direction, allowing for hands-free control over the device, enhancing user accessibility and interaction. Additionally, a sophisticated power management subsystem is incorporated, which intelligently regulates the power distribution to the optical sensor array, economizing energy consumption by considering the user's active engagement as indicated by the eye tracking data. The system presents an approach to device interaction, promising enhanced efficiency and a more personalized user experience in portable computing technology."
