MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641051777 A) filed by MLR Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, Telangana, on April 23, for 'agentic ai conversational hrms for optimized hr.'

Inventor(s) include Mrs. Zeenath Jaha Begum; Mr. Sreenath Bogari; Ms. Keerthana Jami; and Mr. Vardhan Konagalla.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "In this invention, an Agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) Conversational Human Resource Management System (HRMS) is proposed for optimizing HR operations through intelligent automation and natural language interaction. The system enables employees and HR administrators to communicate with HR services using a messaging interface, allowing users to submit requests related to leave management, attendance tracking, payroll inquiries, meeting scheduling, and other HR functions. User requests are received through a messaging platform and transmitted via a communication gateway to a backend application programming interface (API) server responsible for processing incoming requests. The backend server forwards the request to an Agentic AI Orchestrator that performs intent recognition and decision making using a Natural Language Processing (NLP) engine. The NLP module analyzes user input, identifies the intent of the request, and converts the query into structured information that can be processed by the HRMS core modules. The HRMS modules perform various organizational functions including leave management, substitute allocation, meeting scheduling, and attendance and payroll processing. The system interacts with a relational database to store and retrieve employee information, HR records, and operational data. After processing the request, the system generates appropriate responses and notifications that are delivered to users through the messaging interface. The notification layer also provides reminders and alerts for HR activities such as meeting schedules, leave approvals, and policy updates. The proposed invention reduces manual HR workload, improves response time to employee requests, and enhances overall workforce management efficiency. By integrating conversational interfaces, artificial intelligence, and enterprise HR systems, the invention provides a scalable and intelligent platform for modern HR automation and digital workplace communication."
