MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511127343 A) filed by Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Dec. 16, 2025, for 'ai-based dynamic route rationalisation system for public bus transportation and working method thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Jaishree Jain; Anuva Singh; Ananya Singh; Kavya Singh; and Anshika Agarwal.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an AI-based dynamic route rationalisation system for public bus transportation integrating multi-source real-time data, predictive modelling, and reinforcement learning to generate context-aware routes. A vehicle subsystem streams GPS telemetry to a centralised cloud server over 4G/5G. A preprocessing pipeline fuses traffic, weather, incident, and historical datasets into time-aligned features. An LSTM model forecasts segment-level speeds along predicted traversal times. A genetic algorithm constructs and evolves candidate routes under network constraints and multi-objective fitness (time, fuel, emissions, accessibility). A DQN policy evaluates candidate routes under a state comprising traffic, weather, temporal indices, incidents, vehicle state, and demand indicators. A decision layer synthesizes predictions and action-values to select and update routes in real time via a driver interface, closing feedback loops across second-to-minute, hour-to-day, and week-to-month horizons. The system improves efficiency, reduces fuel consumption, enhances reliability, and expands accessibility for underserved areas."
