MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621010583 A) filed by Symbiosis International, Pune, Maharashtra, on Jan. 31, for 'ai-based healthcare route optimization system.'
Inventor(s) include Ananta Verma; Gaddam Sesha Sai Srikar; Protishee Das; Abhishek Dhonde; and Prof. Shruti Maheshwari.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a computer-implemented system (100) for route optimization in healthcare supply chain management is disclosed. The system (100) includes a data acquisition module (102) coupled with a processor that collects healthcare supply chain data such as patient location, demand, and vehicle availability. A processing module (104) coupled with the processor models the collected data as a vehicle routing problem with healthcare-specific constraints. An artificial intelligence optimization engine (106) integrates a genetic algorithm and reinforcement learning algorithm to generate optimized routes for mobile healthcare units. A communication interface (108) provides the optimized routes to healthcare providers or mobile healthcare units. The system (100) minimizes travel distance and time while maximizing healthcare service coverage in underdeveloped or remote areas."
