MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641025437 A) filed by Srm Institute Of Science And Technology; and Easwari Engineering College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on March 4, for 'ai based multi-species disaster early warning system.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Judy Flavia B; Dr. Ballika J Chelliah; Ms. Aishwarya V; and Mr. Nirmal Prakash.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This invention associates to an hyperintelligent early disaster warning system that uses animal behavioral patterns amalgamate with environmental sensors and artificial intellignece. Specifically, it includes and integrates GPS trackers, environmental sensors, Internet of Thingsdevices, and advanced artificial intelligence algorithms in order to investigate the ways in which odd behaviorsshown by animals might serve as early warnings of disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcaniceruptions. Today, tsunamis occur often worldwide. Early prediction of tsunamis is crucial for saving lives. The earthquake may be forecast in three timeframes: short-term, intermediate-term, and long-term. The twomain prediction tools are geophysical antecedents and unusualanimal behaviour. This article analyses strange animal behaviour to forecast tsunamis by analysing theirsensory organs, which may detect inputs before an earthquake. Through the use of data analysis and real-timemonitoring, it investigates the possibility of combining such behavioral patterns with technology solutions inorder to increase the accuracy and timeliness of catastrophe forecasts, hence reducing the impact that thesedisasters have on human populations and Data Resources."
