Inventor(s) include Mrs. M. Manimegala; Ms. S. Sharani; Ms. L. Swetha; Mr. B. Tharunesh; and Mr. K. Vaishnav.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Vision-related disorders are among the leading causes of irreversible blindness worldwide, especially when not detected at an early stage. Retinal diseases such as Cataract, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, and Age-Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD) often progress without noticeable symptoms, making early diagnosis essential for effective treatment. AI Based Retinal Image Disease Prediction is an intelligent diagnostic system designed to automatically detect and classify retinal diseases from fundus images using supervised learning techniques. The system analyzes retinal images to identify disease-specific patterns and classifies them into Cataract, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, ARMD, or Normal categories. By leveraging deep learning and medical image processing techniques, the system assists ophthalmologists by providing fast, accurate, and consistent diagnostic results. It reduces the dependency on manual screening, minimizes human error, and supports large-scale eye screening programs."
