MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541123880 A) filed by Vardhaman College Of Engineering, Ranga Reddy, Telangana, on Dec. 9, 2025, for 'ai-driven predictive fire detection and smart evacuation routing system.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Shaik Imam Saheb; Mr. Manish K Srivastava; Ms. Gayatri Kadimi; Dr. A C Umamaheshwer Rao; Dr. Kotagiri Ganga Prasad; and Dr. Siddi Shashi Devi.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an AI-Driven Predictive Fire Detection and Smart Evacuation Routing System designed to proactively identify fire hazards and optimize occupant evacuation during emergency conditions. The system integrates a network of IoT sensors, surveillance cameras, and edge-AI modules to continuously monitor environmental parameters such as temperature, smoke density, gas concentration, and visual flame signatures. Machine learning algorithms analyze real-time data to predict potential fire outbreaks before ignition or during early-stage development, thereby enabling proactive alerts. Upon detection or prediction of a hazardous situation, the system dynamically generates safe evacuation routes using spatial analytics and intelligent path-planning algorithms. Evacuation guidance is delivered to building occupants through smart signboards, mobile applications, indoor navigation systems, and automated voice alerts."
