MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641049910 A) filed by Easwari Engineering College; and Srm Institution Of Science And Technology Ramapuram Campus, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 20, for 'ai satbot for maintanance and assist.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The proposed project for AI SATBOT for Maintenance and Assist is an intelligent autonomous robotic system for the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of artificial satellites while in orbit. The proposed robotic system includes an intelligent damage detection method using AI techniques, a precise robotic manipulator for repairs, and a mechanism for injecting structural and electrical components for repairs. The robotic system has to function in harsh space environments and overcome problems such as micrometeorite impact damage, thermal stress, and component degradation. The proposed robotic system also includes a curing mechanism for the durability of repairs using UV or heat curing techniques and a constant telemetry system for monitoring the satellite from ground stations."
