MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202241072628 A) filed by Ordnance Factory Medak, Sangareddy, Telangana, on Dec. 15, 2022, for 'ammunition stowage & feeding system for twin barrel air defence gun.'

Inventor(s) include Jakkoju Raju; and K. Swamy.

The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an ammunition stowage and feeding system for twin barrel air defence gun. The feeding system comprises three stages such as a neck system comprising necks (1, 2), a screw type tubular hose system comprising screw type hose (4) and booster motors (5, 6) which are combined to one another. The twin barrel air defence (AD) gun comprises two 30 mm Cannon guns with improved fire rate to enhance the kill probability of required AD Gun. In this twin barrel arrangement, one gun is mounted reversed (up-side down). In particular, the present invention provides twin barrel air defence gun that is capable of feed rate with 1000 rounds/minute with elevation of 850 and depression of -50 for Close in Weapon (CIW) range system. The AD gun can be employed for providing terminal AD to selected Vital Areas and Vital Points (VAs/VPs) in plains, deserts and mountainous terrain."
