MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641020311 A) filed by Sri Venkateshwara College Of Engineering, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Feb. 20, for 'an ai integrated electrical energy optimization device for smart homes.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sathish B S; Dr Satish B M; Dr Jijesh J J; Dr. Sanjeev C Lingareddy; Adarsh Gowda M; Sindhu M; Ganashiva A; and Niranjanb.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to An AI integrated electrical energy optimization system for smart homes is disclosed. The system comprises one or more processors, energy measurement modules, environmental and occupancy sensors, communication interfaces, and an artificial intelligence-based optimization engine. The system continuously monitors real-time electrical energy consumption, occupancy conditions, and environmental parameters associated with household appliances and electrical loads. Based on the monitored data, the system analyzes usage patterns and automatically determines optimized control actions for lighting systems, heating and cooling systems, and domestic appliances to reduce energy wastage while maintaining occupant comfort. The system dynamically switches electrical loads, regulates power distribution during peak demand conditions, and schedules non-critical appliances during off-peak periods. The system further provides energy analytics, alerts, and consumption insights through user interfaces and cloud connectivity. Integration with renewable energy sources and energy storage systems enables intelligent coordination between locally generated energy and grid supply, thereby reducing electricity costs, improving energy efficiency, and supporting sustainable smart home energy management."
