MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611048546 A) filed by Manipal University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on April 16, for 'an ai-powered digital wardrobe management and context-aware outfit recommendation system.'

Inventor(s) include Mr. Molik Jain; Mr. Eshan Sud; and Lav Upadhyay.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a platform for personalised outfit recommendation and digital wardrobe management. The platform comprises a machine-learning engine using deep visual feature extraction and colour-harmony modelling, which analyses the wardrobe along with user-defined contextual inputs such as event type, desired impression, weather, and personal style preferences. The system generates optimised outfit recommendations, assigns a fashion score, and identifies compatible garments when a user uploads any specific clothing image. The platform further integrates event creation, trend analysis, and adaptive learning from user feedback to refine future recommendations. Users digitise their wardrobe by taking pictures of each clothing item they own. These images are then automatically categorised using pre-defined attributes like category, type, season, style, occasion, and colour. The invention can be implemented as a mobile or web-based application, providing an automated, context-aware personal styling experience."
