MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521122700 A) filed by Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'an anti-inflammatory composition for ear, method of preparation and its utility thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Aphale, Parth; Dokania, Shashank; and Shekhar, Himanshu.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an anti-inflammatory composition comprising Verbascum thapsus Q, Calendula officinalis Q, purified glycerin, and sterile purified water exhibiting a stability period of 23-36 months, preferably 24 months. The present invention also discloses a method of preparation of the anti-inflammatory composition by creating a glycerin-water base under sterile conditions, adding the botanical components while maintaining a pH of 5.0-6.5, sterile filtration through a 0.22-micron membrane and aseptic filling into amber dropper bottles for providing relief for inflammation, congestion, dryness, irritation in the ear and promotes safe and natural healing."
