MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026679 A) filed by The Secretary, Ministry Of Electronics And Information Technology, Govt. Of India; and Society For Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering And Research, New Delhi, on March 30, 2024, for 'an apparatus for inspecting food grain.'

Inventor(s) include Verma, Dharmesh Manohar; and Harsh, Rajesh Manoharlal.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure discloses an apparatus 100 for inspecting food grain. The apparatus 100 comprises a base 10 configured to be mounted on a surface and a frame structure that includes an arm 20 configured to be angularly displaced on the base 10 about an operative vertical axis V, a frame 30 configured to be fixedly attached to the arm 20, and a covering means 40 configured to be supported on the base 10 for enclosing the frame 30. A specimen holder 50 is configured to be attached to the covering means 40 for positioning of a grain of food to be inspected. The apparatus 100 further comprises a video surveillance means 60 configured to be displaced along the periphery of the frame 30 for capturing images of the food grain positioned on the specimen holder 50."
