MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202341087378 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 20, 2023, for 'an armrest assembly for a vehicle.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An armrest assembly (105) for a vehicle (100) is described. The assembly includes a carrier member (1053) being pivotably connectable to a center console (1058) being positioned between a pair of seats in the vehicle. An armrest shell (1050) is engageable with the carrier member, the armrest shell including a movable shell (1051) structured to support an arm of an user and being slidably engageable with the carrier member. The movable shell being displaceable between an extended position and a retracted position based on pre-defined parameters. A stationary shell (1057) is secured to the carrier member and is disposed underneath the movable shell. The stationary shell being structured to support a portion of the arm of the user upon displacing the movable shell to the extended position (B) from the retracted position (A). The assembly is substantially compact in size and may be secured to center consoles in various vehicles."
