MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641025735 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on March 5, for 'an aromatherapy-integrated physiotherapy cage for stress reduction in rodent models.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sathya Siva; and Deepak Nallaswamy Veeraiyan.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an aromatherapy-integrated physiotherapy cage _comprising an enclosed cage structure housing a rodent model, a mobility-enabling exercise wheel, food and water sources, and an aromatherapy diffuser positioned above the cage and connected to an essential oil reservoir. The diffuser disperses controlled aromatic stimuli into the cage environment during physiotherapy or activity sessions. The system is designed to reduce stress, improve behavioral compliance, and enhance the effectiveness of physiotherapy and enrichment-based interventions in rodent models used for rehabilitation, neurological, or musculoskeletal research."
